This memo presents the planned schedule for installation and operation of the Soil V apor <br /> Extraction Pilot Study (SVEPS) at the above referenced Montgomery Ward (Ward) site. <br /> On behalf of Ward, Environmental Audit Inc. (EAI) submitted a workplan dated August 5, <br /> 1996 to your office for the implementation of the SVEPS. A letter dated August 9, 1996 from <br /> the San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS) provided your comments o the <br /> workplan. EAI responded to your comments in an addendum to the workplan dated Septe ber <br /> 16, 1996. In a telephone discussion on September 24, 1996, you approved our modified <br /> workplan. You also stated you would require Ward to install a downgradient gl ound <br /> monitoring well. EAI documented this conversation in a memo to you dated Septembe 26, <br /> 1996. <br /> of the SVEPS: <br /> ro osed schedule for implementation <br /> The following is a p p <br /> October 29, 1996: EAI will meet with SJCPHS, City of Stockton and AT&T at the <br /> site to determine if a suitable location can be selected for <br /> installing a dawn-gradient ground water monitoring well. The <br /> meeting has been set to decide if proximity of an AT&T <br /> underground, fiber-optic cable and the absence of a suitable: City <br /> of Stockton right-of-way poses any problems for the installation <br /> of this well. <br /> November 11 to 15, 1996: Install proposed vapor extraction wells, soil vapor probe3 and <br /> ground water monitoring well (if possible). Also install and set <br /> up Soil Vapor Extraction and Treatment System (SVETS). <br /> November 18 to 22, 1996: Operate and maintain SVETS. Obtain field data including <br /> pressure drops, air flow rate, vapor concentration.
