San Joaquin Street <br /> P.O.Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> RE: ADDENDUM TO PHASE VII SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION WORK PLAN <br /> Montgomen•Ward Auto Service Center <br /> 5400 Pacific Avenue <br /> Stockton, California 95207 <br /> Site Code 2163 <br /> Dear Mr. Infuma: <br /> This letter is an addendum to the Revised Phase VII Subsurface Investigation Work Plan for <br /> the Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center, 5400 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California dared <br /> September 17, 1995. <br /> i-o PROPOSED ADDITIONAL WORK <br /> The proposed additional field work for the Phase VII subsurface investigation is the drilling <br /> and construction of one four-mcb diameter ground water monitoring well located as <br /> approximately shown in Figure 1. <br /> Since ground water is present beneath the Montgomery Ward site at a depth of approximately <br /> 53 feet below ground surface(bgs), the well will be drilled to a depth of approximately 70 feet <br /> bgs. The well will be constructed of four-inch inside diameter flush-threaded Schedule 40 <br /> polyvinyl chloride well casing. Soil samples will be collected from the boring at five feet bgs - <br /> and at five foot intervals thereafter until termination. The boring will be logged in accordance <br /> with the Unified Soil Classification System. <br /> Selected soil samples from the boring will he tested for total petroleum hydrocarbons as <br /> gasoline(TPH-G)using modified EPA Method 8015, and benzene,toluene, ethylbenzene, and <br /> xylenes (BTEX) using EPA Method 8020. Further, selected samples may also be tested for <br /> purgeable halocarbons using EPA Method 8010. Ground water samples will be tested for <br /> TPH-G using modified IRA Method 8015, BTEX using EPA Method 602, and purgeable <br /> halocarbons using EPA Method 601. The analytical testing will be completed by BC <br /> Analytical, a state certified hazardous waste testing laboratory.
