Boring locations were selected by Delta College. All
borings were approximately 11.5 feet below ground surface (bgs). The purpose of the borings
was to attempt to find an alternate well location, near the test hole, outside of the debris
encountered on November 8, 2001.
Drilling was completed by V&W Drilling. Boris Stolin of EAI and Mike Infurna of San
Joaquin County PHS-EHD were on-site during the drilling. The following are results of the
exploratory drilling based on visual observation of soil cuttings and core samples:
• Boring B1 contained significant amounts of glass and waste materials to a depth of
approximately of 10 feet bgs. No smell or traces of asbestos were observed.
• Boring B2 contained traces of glass to a depth of approximately 3 feet bgs. No smell or
traces of asbestos were observed.
• Boring B3 contained traces of glass to a depth of approximately 3 feet bgs. No smell or
traces of asbestos were observed.
• Boring B4 contained traces of glass to a depth of approximately 3 feet bgs. No smell or
traces of asbestos were observed.
All of the borings advanced encountered glass, but only boring B 1 encountered debris at depths
deeper than 3 feet.
PLANNING,ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS AND
HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES MANAGEMENT AND REMEDIATION
