(EAI) letter to San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS-EBD) for the above-referenced site titled <br /> ,,Well Destruction Details," dated April 10, 2001 (the "Letter"). Based on our discussions of <br /> April 11, 2001, the PHS-EMD has denied our request to abandon the Robinhood Irrigation <br /> Well (RIW) using the method outlined in the Letter_ Therefore, this 'Work Plan has been <br /> prepared to provide an alternative method for destruction of the RIW. <br /> The following method is proposed for destruction of the RTW: <br /> • Remove existing turbine pump with variable clutch from the well. <br /> + Measure the well. <br /> • Remove cement base to three(3)feet below ground surface(bgs). <br /> • Insert wire-line charges placed every 100 feet from,322 feet bgs to 10 feet bgs. <br /> • Insert tremie pipe from bottom of well to top, and pump nine (9) sack sand and"cement <br /> from bottom to five (5)feet bgs. - <br /> • Remove tremie pipe. <br /> Detonate wire lines. <br /> + Fill up well with grout and mushroom cap. <br /> PLANNING,ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES AND <br /> lIA9,ARDoUS SUBSTANCES MANAGEMENT AND REMEDIATION <br />
