She originally stated that the line could be removed and replaced, and
that was what she wanted. Your photos do not show the proximity to the wall, which causes other problems.
After much discussion she decided to allow the 20 inch cap with the 5 foot deep hole (not the 3 foot one).
Once again this is not to be taken as precedence for future actions. In the future having the electrical line moved
so the well contents will all be destroyed will be the requirement.
Johnny Yoakum
Senior REHS
San Joaquin County—Environmental Health Department
From: Josh Ewert [mailto:ewert@geoconinc.com]
Sent: Sunday, January 29, 2012 8:57 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]; John Yoakum [EH]
Cc: brake@geoconinc.com; Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: 5400 Pacific Ave -Well MW-3
Thank you Mike. I have alerted Johnny of the changes for MW-3 and we will be destroying this well
accordingly this week.
There is another issue involving well AS-15.This is a 1-inch diameter well that we had planned on
destroying using the combination of sonic drilling and 10-inch-diameter augers that has proven to be
successful. However, upon removing the well box for AS-15,we discovered that there is a %-inch PVC
pipe that runs right next to well AS-15.You can see it in the attached pictures how close to the well it
comes. From looking around the area, it is either an irrigation line for the nearby sprinklers or more
likely an electrical line that supplies the power that lights the stone wall/sign. Either way, turning 10-inch
augers on AS-15 will certainly destroy this Yz-inch pipe and therefore we would like to petition the
county to allow us to pressure grout and mushroom cap AS-15 instead. Using an air knife,we will be
able to install a 20-inch-diameter mushroom cap down to 3 feet(or 5 feet if desired)while not damaging
this Y2-inch PVC pipe. Please let me know if this is suitable to the county or if you have any other
recommendations on how to handle this matter.
Thank you,
-Josh Ewert
From: Mike Infurna [EH] [mailto:MInfurna@sjcehd.ccm]
Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 11:09 AM
To: Josh Ewert; John Yoakum [EH]
Cc: brake@geoconinc.com; Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: RE: 5400 Pacific Ave - Well MW-3
Mr. Ewert,
The EHD has evaluated your request and approves the pressure grout
1/31/2012
