Unless you can prove a VADOSE well is NOT in vadose
contamination by providing recent confirmation soil borings/samples, I will assume it is STILL
in the area of contamination.
as a reminder, nested wells installed with, for example, a 10-inch auger, must have a larger
auger used to clear the original borehole per our well ordinance. Experience has shown a 15"
auger centered on the deep casing must be used to completely radius across the original
center of the hole and chew up the grout, bentonite, and sand on the other side of the original
borehole. Plan on drilling to TD +1 foot for a sucessful well removal.
mike
From: Josh Ewert [mailto:ewert@geoconinc.com]
Sent: Wednesday, August 03, 20115:40 PM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Subject: 5400 and 5606 Pacific Ave VEW wells
8/17/2011
