Barton <br /> Central Valley Water Board ENVIRONMENT HEALTH <br /> 11020 Sun Center Drive, Suite 200 PERMIT/SERVICES <br /> Rancho Cordova, CA 95670-6114 <br /> RE: Confirmation of AS/SVE System Installation Report Submittal Date <br /> 5400 and 5606 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> Cleanup and Abatement Order#5-00-707 <br /> Former Montgomery Wards/Former Unocal Facility#5098(Chevron#306620) <br /> ENSR Project No. 01231-154-R508 <br /> Dear Mr. Barton: <br /> ENSR Corporation (ENSR), on behalf of Chevron Environmental Management Company (EMC), has <br /> prepared this letter confirming that ENSR will submit the report documenting the air sparge(AS) and soil <br /> vapor extraction (SVE) system installation activities by September 30, 2008 to the Central Valley Water <br /> Board (CVWB) for the former Montgomery Ward, LLC (Wards) service station located at 5400 Pacific <br /> Avenue, and the former Unocal service station, located at 5606 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> referenced collectively herein as the Site. <br /> In a letter dated March 5, 2008, the CVWB directed the submittal of a report for the AS/SVE system <br /> installation activities by August 29, 2008. ENSR provided written notification to the CVWB on July 31, 2008 <br /> that the construction activities to upgrade AS/SVE remediation systems at the Site were completed and that <br /> the systems were restarted on July 30, 2008. <br /> On August 20, 2008, in a voice-mail message to the CVWB, ENSR requested an extension until September <br /> 30, 2008 for the submittal of the installation report.
