ENGINEERING, INC <br /> RCE#27011 Lic #537901 <br /> January 14, 2005 <br /> 4 7 045 <br /> EaV1Rfls wNT�ER�fICES HEALTH <br /> Mr Jim Barton <br /> California Regional Water Quality Control Board <br /> Central Valley Region <br /> 11020 Sun Center Drive#200 <br /> Rancho Cordova, California 95670-6114 <br /> SUBJECT: MW-1 REDEVELOPMENT REPORT <br /> FORMER MONTGOMERY WARDS, 5400 PACIFIC AVENUE, <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> Dear Mr Barton <br /> This letter is in response to your letter dated November 19, 2004, directing a second inspection <br /> and sampling of MW-1 at the subject property as shown on Figures 1 and 2 GHH completed the <br /> work on January 4, 2005 and the findings are summarized to this letter report <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The following is a brief summary of the redevelopment activities performed <br /> • An initial groundwater sample was collected prior to disturbing the water <br /> column in MW-1 and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as motor <br /> oil (TPH MO)using EPA Method 8015 <br /> • A video recording of the inner casing of MW-1 was completed prior to <br /> and after purging groundwater from the well <br /> • A minimum of ten equivalent well volumes of groundwater was pumped <br /> from the well utilizing a submersible pump with a larger capacity than the <br /> pump used during the first redevelopment event <br /> • Approximately 210 gallons of purged groundwater was pumped into <br /> Department of Transportation (DOT) approved 55-gallon drums and <br /> stored on-site pending disposal by a certified waste hauler <br /> 11960 Heritage Oak Place • Suite 2B •Auburn, CA 95603 (530)886-3100 (800)877-1739 fax (530)886-3108 <br />
