1 Health and Safety Plan <br /> Cleanup and Abatement Order No 5-00-707 EAI Project No 1232 <br /> 9.0 GENERAL HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS <br />' 9.1 Site Safety Meetings <br /> 1 Prior to commencement of Site activities, daily Site safety meeting will be conducted to discuss <br /> potential hazards associated with completing the work The meetings will be conducted by the <br /> SSO or PM, and attended by all personnel involved in field activities at the Site <br />' 9.2 Site Control <br />' Barriers will be used, to the degree feasible, to define a no smoking and limited access zone <br /> around the Exclusion Zone Access control will be established at the periphery of the <br /> Exclusion Zone to properly regulate the flow of personnel and equipment into and out of the <br /> zone The SSO or PM will require evidence of training prior to granting entry into the <br /> Exclusion Zone No visitors will be allowed into the Exclusion Zone unless they comply with <br /> the requirements of this HASP <br />' 9.3 Personal Protective Equipment <br />' The PPE selected for this project is anticipated to provide protection against the types and <br /> concentrations of contaminants that are expected to be encountered during Site work <br /> However, no PPE is resistant to all chemicals at any concentration In fact, chemicals may <br /> continue to permeate or degrade PPE even after the source of contamination is removed <br /> In order to obtain optimum PPE usage, the following procedures are to be followed <br />' O When using disposable coveralls, don a clean new garment after each rest break or at <br /> the beginning of each shift <br /> 0 Inspect all clothing, gloves and boots prior to and after usage for <br /> - Imperfect seams <br />' - Non-uniform coatings <br /> Tears <br /> - Poorly fiinctioning closures <br />' • Inspect reusable garments prior to and after usage for <br /> - Visible signs of chemical permeation such as swelling, discoloration, stiffness or <br /> brittleness <br /> - Cracks or any signs of puncture or abrasion <br /> - Any reusable garments exhibiting any such characteristics will be discarded <br /> The following is the PPE list <br /> C Hardhats <br /> • O Safety glasses/goggles <br /> 1 <br /> SAH 1232CA0HASP -16- <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT, INC.® <br />
