SOIL AND GROUND WATER REMEDIATION SYSTEM REPORT <br /> FIRST QUARTER 2000 <br /> Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center <br /> 5400 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA <br /> Site Code 2163 <br /> SJVAPCD Permit Unit N-4147-1-0 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br />' This report describes the activities performed at the above-referenced site during the first <br /> quarter 2000 to mitigate soil and ground water impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> 1.0 REMEDIATION WELLS MODIFICATION <br /> In the first quarter 2000, Environmental Audit, Inc (EAI) modified existing wells VEW-2, <br /> VEW-3, and VEW-4 (see Figure 1) by installing a packer inside the wells at a depth of about <br /> 50 feet below ground surface Existing well VEW-1B was also connected to the air sparging <br /> header <br /> 2.0 SYSTEM OPERATION AND MONITORING <br /> The remediation system operated mainly on a continuous basis between December 22, 1999 <br /> and March 28, 2000 The unit was shut-down on several occasions during the period of heavy <br /> rain due to pulling ground crater into the vapor extraction header During the reporting period, <br /> the system was operating for 1,356 hours The system was monitored on a weekly basis The <br /> field report forms indicating parameters recorded are presented in Appendix B <br /> No field ieadings were taken during the reporting period Soil vapor samples from the vacuum <br /> blower discharge and the stack were obtained on March 27, 2000 The samples were analyzed <br />' PLANNING, ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES AND <br /> HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES MANAGEMENT AND REMEDIATION <br />
