SOIL AND GROUND WATER REMEDIATION SYSTEM REPORT <br /> THIRD AND FOURTH QUARTERS 1999 <br /> Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center <br /> 5400 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA <br /> Site Code 2163 <br /> SJVAPCD Permit Unit N-4147-1-0 <br /> Dear Mr Infurna <br /> This report describes the activities performed at the above-referenced site during the Third and <br /> Fourth Quarters 1999 to install the remediation system and mitigate soil and ground water <br />' impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons <br /> 1 0 REMEDIATION WELLS, PIPING AND EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION <br /> In the third quarter 1999, Environmental Audit, Inc (EAI) installed eight nested air/sparging <br /> wells, interconnecting piping, and remediation equipment consisting of a 400-scfm <br />' thermal/catalytic oxidizer and a 100-scfm air sparging compressor (see Figure 1) Existing <br /> cluster wells VEW-2 and VEW-2A were also connected to the remediation system, existing <br /> vapor wells VEW-3, VEW-4 and VEW-5 were converted to in-well air sparging wells and <br /> connected to the system, and vapor extraction well VEW-IA was piped in the vapor extraction <br /> manifold However, air sparging well VEW-1B was not connected to the air-sparging manifold <br /> because a small diameter sparging tube of one eighth inches was installed using a packer <br />' comparatively to a 2" diameter manifold <br /> The requisite permits required to install and operate the remediation system were obtained from <br /> the City of Stockton,-San Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health <br /> l Division (County Health) and San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District (SJVAPCD) <br /> 1 <br /> PLANNING,ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES AND <br /> HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES MANAGEMENT AND REMEDIATION <br />
