FIRST QUARTER 1998 GROUND WATER MONrroRiNG REPORT San Joaquin County <br /> Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center Public Health Services Department <br /> 5400 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA Site Code 2163 <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />' This document constitutes the First Quarter (January through March) 1998 ground water <br /> monitoring report for the Montgomery Ward Auto Service Center property located at 5400 <br /> Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California (Montgomery Ward site) (see Figure 1) Environmental <br /> Audit, Inc (EAI) was retained to complete the monitoring The quarterly ground water <br /> monitoring and sampling is being conducted in accordance with a request from the San Joaquin <br />' County Public Health Services Department (County) The County identifies the Site by Site <br /> Code 2163 <br />' In previous sampling events as requested by the County, the gauging and sampling activities at <br /> the Montgomery Ward site have occurred on the same day that wells were gauged and sampled <br /> at the former Unocal service station located at 5606 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, California <br /> (Unocal site) (see Figure 1) During the First Quarter 1998, none of the wells associated with <br />' the Unocal site were gauged or sampled by Unocal <br /> Historical high ground water levels at the Site have the current depth of first ground water <br /> I over well screened intervals in six of the seven ground water monitoring wells at the Site <br /> Therefore, at the request of the County, EAI gauged all the vapor extraction wells (VEW-1A, <br /> VEW-113, VEW-2, VEW-213, and VEW-3 through VEW-5) and sampled four of the vapor <br /> extraction wells (Wells VEW-2B, VEW-3, VEW-4 and VEW-5) at the Site since these wells <br /> M were screened at the ground water level The vapor extraction wells were constructed as part <br /> of proposed remedial action for the Site to extract and treat fuel hydrocarbon impacted soil <br /> The vapor extraction wells have not been used for this purpose <br /> 2.0 QLD INVESTIGA'T`ION <br /> 2 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION SURVEY <br /> On March 18, 1998, prior to purging or sampling activities, depth measurements to fluid <br /> levels were obtained by EAI from all monitoring wells (wells MW-1 through MW-7) and <br /> vapor extraction wells associated with the Montgomery Ward site using an interface probe <br /> Iaccurate to 0 01 foot (see Figure 2 and Table 1) <br /> Table 1 also contains well gauging information from wells (wells MW-10 through MW-17) <br /> associated with the Unocal site provided to EAI by Unocal's consultant MPDS Services, Inc <br /> lose �i�rr»ra '11 XfF free-product 1-as detected in aYiV of YhP Welk Thi- wntPr I vel <br /> \0\r 1 lj5"L� -.1 11V L- r 1 <br /> measurement for each well was converted to mean sea level (MSL) datum by subtracting the <br /> measured water level for each well from its respective "top of well casing elevation" datum <br /> i (see Table 1) <br /> Project No 1232 _ 1 - ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT, .INC <br />
