Four cleanup and/or remediation sites were identified within the
specified search distances of the subject property. All are listed on the RWQCB's SLIC list.
' None were immediately adjacent to the subject property.
UST HISTORY:
rMr. Dagobert Schmidt, the property owner and tank operator was interviewed in order
to obtain a factual history relative to the UST in question. Mr. Schmidt provided
' corporate file information indicating that the 1,000 gallon UST was installed in the latter
part of 1980. A structural slab and small steel frame building were then constructed over
the UST leaving only the filler exposed on the exterior. The filler was surrounded with
' asphalt paving The tank was filled only one time with gasoline. The tank was never
refilled after the gasoline was used, and the tank emptied.
1 On April 14,1988 the tank was abandoned in place by filling the tank and sealing the filler
and delivery lines with a cementitious slurry. The abandonment was observed by a
representative of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. A copy of
' the inspection report is in the case file maintained by that agency.
SAMPLING METHODOLOGIES:
On March 3,2005,RNC submitted a workplan and drilling permit application to the San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department. The workplan was approved with
minor amendments and the drilling permits approved and issued on March 4,2005.
On the morning of April 6, 2005 two borings were advanced to a depth of two feet
' beneath the bottom of the centerline of the tank. The borings were placed as close to the
ends of the tank as practicable utilizing slant drilling techniques. As the borings were
advanced, the cuttings were visually observed for staining or other obvious indications
' of contamination. None were observed. There were no olfactory indications of petroleum
products in the auger cuttings or the tank backfill material in either boring.
' RNC Environmental,LLC •9746 Parktree Way,Elk Grove,CA 95624 • 916.714.3073 • fax 916.290.0106
