Soil Suitability/ Nitrate Loading Study Irerracon
Souza Property Tracy, CA
February 28, 2020 Terracon Project No. NA207011
1.5.1 Soil Boring Locations
Based on a review of the site plan, the proposed leach field will be located west of the new
residence, therefore, the percolation test borings (B1 and B2) were placed near the anticipated
leach field.
Table 6.
Approximate Boring Locations.
Boring Depth(feet) Latitude Longitude
B1 3.0 37.7061 -121.3988
B2 10.0 37.7060 -121.3988
Refer to Appendix A, Exhibit 2 for the approximate boring locations.
1.5.2 Soil Boring Dimensions
Soil borings B1 and B2 were advanced with a 4-inch diameter hand auger. Boring B1 was
advanced to 3.0 feet bgs and boring B2 was advanced 10.0 feet bgs.
1.5.3 Soil Lithology Observed
The following table presents a log of the soil boring(s).
Table 7.
Summary of Soil Lithology
Boring Depth Interval Soil Type Unified Soil
(feet) Classification
131 0 to 3.0 Silt with sand ML
0 to 5.5 Sandy Silt ML
B2
5.5 to 10.0 Lean clay with sand CL
1.5.4 Discussion of Soil Lithology
The soils encountered in our percolation test boring consists of silt with sand and lean clay with
sand. Generally speaking, coarse-grained soil has a greater potential for percolation than fine-
grained or cemented soil.
Terracon searched the DWR online Well Completion Records for additional information regarding
soil lithology within 0.25 miles of the site. A water supply well was not identified near the site.
Responsive ■ Resourceful ■ Reliable 9
