WtCi R
Southwest, Hnc.
The soil samples from 2 feet and 10 feet bgs will undergo laboratory analysis for TRPH by EPA
Method 418.1, for VOCs by EPA Method 8260B,for SVOCs,PAHs and PNAs by EPA Method
8270C, for pesticides by EPA Method 8081, for PCBs by EPA Method 8082, for pH by EPA
Method 9045C, and for metals by CAM17 TTLC Group Analysis. The soil samples from 5 feet
bgs will only be analyzed for TRPH unless significant levels of other contaminants are found in
the 2 and/or 10 foot samples, in which case, additional analyses may be performed on the
appropriate 5 foot sample(s).
5.6 Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
Based upon the soil conditions observed in the field, two of the five soil borings will be selected
for groundwater sampling. These borings will be extended into first groundwater, which is
estimated to be 12 feet bgs, and groundwater grab samples will be collected using a
Hydropunch® groundwater sampler. The grab groundwater samples will be transferred to the
appropriate laboratory containers, labeled with all pertinent sampling information, and packed in
an ice-filled cooler. They will be transported under chain of custody protocol to a California
State certified laboratory for analysis along with the soil samples.
All groundwater samples will be analyzed for TRPH by EPA Method 418.1, for VOCs by EPA
Method 8260B, for SVOCs, PAHs and PNAs by EPA Method 8270C, for pesticides by EPA
Method 8081, for PCBs by EPA Method 8082, for pH by EPA Method 150.1, and for metals by
CAM 17 TTLC Group Analysis.
5.7 Disposal of Waste Materials
Any drill cuttings or waste water generated during the drilling operation will be stored on site in
55-gallon DOT-approved steel drums pending waste characterization. Drums will be labeled
with the site name and address, generation date, and type and source of the material contained.
Within 60 days of the generation date, any drummed soil or water will be transported to an
appropriate facility for disposal.
704.
