To: Wingfield, Jeff
Subject: RE: Monitoring Well
page 2.
initial indications are that this well, and two others on Daggett are City MUD
wells installed under CVRWQCB directives. I've called Ali at COS and he's
aware of this/these wells but unsure of a continuing 'need' for them. He's
going to check with the State to see if they are still needed.
It can go three ways.
1- they aren't COS wells and we can't find the owner/responsible party,
then under COS encroachment (it appears to be in their right of way), it can
be removed under a permit I can issue.
2-it's COS well, but the CVRWQCB wants it to stay, then maybe it can be
taken out for your work, but MUST be reinstalled after you're done...
3- it's COS and the CVRWQCB doesn't need it and approves it's
destruction.. THen the COS apply for a well destruction permit, I issue it,
and I watch it come out and you can do your work.
and maybe
4- unknown options?
what kind of deadlines are you working on? do you KNOW anything for sure
about well name? who's property it's on? will it be in the way if it must
stay? can a traffic box installation work?
From: Wingfield, Jeff [mailto:jwingfield@stocktonport.com]
Sent: Thursday, June 29, 2006 9:30 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: Koehnen, Rita
Subject: Monitoring Well
Mike,
As I mentioned on the phone we are preparing to rehabilitate Daggett Rd south of Burns Cutoff
and north of Highway 4. We noticed a monitoring well towards the northern end of the project
along the west shoulder of the road that looks to me like an old well or pipe that is no longer in
use, but wasn't sure if it were a well associated with the city treatment ponds. Attached are 3
maps of the site that will provide a general location. We did some research and found that the
APN number is either 162-040-05 or 162-040-06, depending which side of the parcel line the well
is on. Please assist with this determination and let me know if there is anything else you may
need.
Thanks
Jeff
I Jeffrey D.Wingfield I Environmental Manager I Port of Stockton I
12201 W.Washington St.,Stockton,CA 95203 1 jwingield@stocktonport.com I
1209.946.0246 1209.464.1251 fax 1
7/20/2006
