The boring logs are attached as Appendix B.
' The soils at the site may be broadly be characterized as intercalated lenses of
mixtures of clay, and silt. The lower part of the borings encountered silty
sand. The sand clasts are generally classified as very-finE grained. The
material is generally characteristic of sediments deposited in low-energy
fluvial flow regimes. No field evidence was found to suggest the presence of
contaminants. Moisture in the soils of boring B-1 was presumed to be from
' the nearby septic tank.
' A chain-of-custody document identifying the soil samples (I.D B1-25 and 132-
25) and the intended analyses accompanied the samples from the field to the
laboratory, thereby providing a means to track its movement and insure
' sample integrity. The samples were transported to Argon Labs, of Ceres,
California, for analysis.
' The soil sample from the base of each boring were tested as fol ows:
• CAM-17 Metals by EPA method 6010
' • Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA method 8260
• Semi-Volatile Organic Compounds by EPA method 8270
' The method detect limits and the complete list of individual chemicals tested
are included in the laboratory data sheets in Appendix A.
' 2.1.4 Groundwater Sampling and Analysis
A sample of the groundwater was collected from the on-site domestic water
' well located next to the building. There is no wellhead valve to collect water
from, but a spigot is located next to the building a few feet away. The valve
was opened and allowed to run for several minutes to purge the pipes.
Laboratory-supplied containers were then used to collect the water sample.
Two, 1-liter amber glass jars, and three 40-m1 VOA vials walre filled with
water.
' The chain-of-custody document identified the groundwater sample J.D.
DWW-1) and the intended analyses, accompanied the sample to Argon Labs
' for analysis.
The sample was tested as follows:
• CAM-17 Metals by EPA method 6010
' 2937 Veneman Avenue, Suite B240 Geo-Phase Environmental Inc. hone: (209)569-0293
Modesto, Ca 95356 Fax: (209)569-0295
