PHS/EHD has the following
comments for your consideration.
The Work Plan proposed the installation of an additional groundwater monitoring well in
a reportedly downgradient location. PHS/EHD concurs that an additional downgradient
monitoring well is necessary to define the extent of groundwater contamination.
Sufficient soil samples should be collected and analyzed to further investigate soil
contamination. Once the boundaries of groundwater and soil contamination are established,
a problem assessment report, evaluating remedial alternatives, should be submitted.
Please submit a PHS/EHD permit application and $89. Field work may be scheduled
following issuance of a drilling permit. If you have any questions or comments, please
contact Mary Meays, Senior REHS, of my staff at (209) 468-0337.
Jogi Khanna, M.D., M.P.H.
Health Officer
Donna Heran, REHS, Program Manager
Environmental Health Division
LAC/MM:lb
c: Elizabeth Thayer, CVRWQCB
c: Wilbur H.
