PINE STREET, LODI, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
A site inspection conducted 18 January 2008 by San Joaquin County Environmental
Management Department (SJCEMD) documented the presence of drums and
containers of oil, solvents, paints, diesel, hydraulic fluid pumps, and other hazardous
wastes illegally stored on on yourproperty at 860 East pine in Lodi. SJCEMD referred
the Case to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region
(Central Valley Water Board) on 7 May 2008.
With oversight by the Central Valley Water Board staff, soil and groundwater samples
were collected in November 2008. Analytical results showed no detectable
concentrations of organic compounds. With the exception of the detection of arsenic at
one location with concentrations consistent with regional background concentrations, no
metals were present in soils above U.S. EPA Region 9 Preliminary Remediation Goals.
According to the attached memorandum, dated 30 July 2009, the remaining levels of
metals do not pose a threat to human health, the environment, or waters of the State.
On 27 March 2009, Advanced GeoEngineering and Science sent a fact sheet
describing the findings of the preliminary site investigation and notifying adjacent
property owners and interested parties of their opportunity to provide comments by
15 May 2009. No comments were received during the 30-day time period.
You have satisfactorily completed investigation of suspected pollution on your property
at 860 E. Pine Street, Lodi. Therefore, no further action is required.
Issuance of a No Further Action Determination does not preclude future action by the
Central Valley Water Board if subsequent monitoring, testing, or analysis of the property
indicates that the remedial action standards and objectives were not achieved; a new or
previously undiscovered release occurs; new information indicates that further site
investigation and remedial action are required to prevent a significant risk to human
California Environmental Protection Agencv
RecycledPaper
