I
1
C A M B R I A WORK PLAN FOR ADDITIONAL SITE ASSESSMENT
JIMCO TRUCK PLAZA
1022 FRONTAGE ROAD
RIPON,CALIFORNIA
1.0 INTRODUCTION
On behalf of Olympian JV (Olympian), Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc. (Cambria) has
prepared this Work Plan for Additional Site Assessment at the above-referenced site. In letter
correspondence dated February 2,2005,the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
(SJCEHD)requested a work plan to assess the lateral extent of impacted groundwater west of wells
MW-8 and MW-9,and assess the vertical extent of impacted groundwater in the vicinity of the USTs.
A copy of the SJCEHD correspondence is included as Appendix A. Presented below is the site
background,a summary of previous investigations,an evaluation of the contaminant distribution, and
the proposed scope of work and schedule.
2.0 SITE BACKGROUND
2.1 Site Description oz
The site is located at 10 Frontage Road(formerly 22502 South Highway 99)in Ripon,California
(Figure 1). The site is at an elevation of approximately 58 feet above mean sea level (amsi) with
generally flat topography. The site is an operating truck service station with several structural
improvements. Along the northern property boundary are several contiguous buildings that facilitate
the operation of retail businesses including a convenience store,a restaurant,a coin-operated laundry
facility,an office building, and a warehouse. A separate structure near the southern boundary of the
site accommodates a truck wash and truck service bay. Other site improvements include ten fuel
dispensers, one split 8,000-gallon and 12,000 gallon gasoline underground storage tank(UST),four
30,000-gallon diesel aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), a propane tank, a 4,500-gallon oil water
separator, a truck scale, and a drainage pond. A site plan showing the general layout and relative
locations of site features is included in Figure 2.
2.2 Historical Site Operations
The site has been operated as a truck stop for the past 30 years. On May 28, 1992, a leaking diesel
fuel dispenser was identified during a routine annual inspection by an inspector with the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department. In 1998,three USTs and ten fuel dispenser islands were
removed from the site. A new gasoline UST and ten dispensers were installed along with new product
piping connecting the new dispensers with the new UST and the existing diesel ASTs.
