12 July 2001
AGE-NC Project No 98-0433
' 3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
Depth to ground water at the site on 10 April 2001 ranged from 18 65 to 20 36 feet below well
' casing tops The ground water elevations at the site ranged from 38 37 feet to 38 51 feet above mean
sea level (msl) The data indicates an average decrease of the ground water elevation at the site of
0 22 feet since the previous quarterly monitoring event
' Ground water flow direction andadient were calculated from the April 2001 gauging data The
' P
flow direction was determined to flow in a southwesterly direction with a hydraulic gradient of
' approximately 0 001 feet/feet The depth to ground water and calculated elevation date are presented
in Table 1 Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
' Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in seven of the ground water samples analyzed
TPH-g was detected in the ground water samples collected from MW-1, MW-2,MW-6, and MW-8
at concentrations ranging from 130 micrograms per liter(ug/1) (MW-8) to 1,400,ug/l (MW-1)
' TPH-d was detected in water samples from wells MW-1 through MW-3 and MW-5 through MW-8
at concentrations ranging from 63 gg/l (MW-3) to 6,200,ug/l (MW-1)
' Benzene was detected only in samples MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 31 ugll and 2 4 ug/l,
respectively The remaining BTEX compounds were also detected in these two wells at
concentrations as high as 9 2 ug/1 (xylenes in MW-1)
MTBE was detected by EPA method 8260 in samples MW-1, MW-2, MW-4 and MW-8 at
concentrations of 3,300 ,ug/l, 15 4g/1, 16 ,ug/l, and 3 6 µg11, respectively Of the remaining fuel
' oxygenates, TBA was detected in samples from well MW-2 and MW-8 at 9 7ug/1 and 6 0 /,cg/l,
respectively Petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenates were not detected in the domestic water
' well sample
Analytical results from ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory report
' (MAI Lab ID 65256 to 65264), quality assurance and quality control(QA/QC) and cham-of-custody
are included in Appendix B
Advanced CeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
