_
' 15 January 200I
i AGE-NC Project No 98-0433
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
Depth to ground water at the site on 06 November 2000 ranged from 22 20 to 18 49 feet below well
casing tops The ground water elevations at the site ranged from 38 56 feet to 38 72 feet above mean
sea level (msl) The data indicates an average decrease of the ground water elevation at the site of
2 02 feet since the previous quarterly monitoring event
1 Ground water flow direction and gradient were calculated from the November 2000 gauging data
The flow direction was determined to flow in a south westerly direction with a hydraulic gradient
of approximately 0 001 feet/feet The depth to ground water and calculated elevation date are
presented in Table 1 Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations on 06 November
2000
3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
TPH- was detected in the round water samples collected from MW-1 MW-2, MW-6, and MW-8
g g P
at concentrations ranging from 67 ,ug/l (MW-8) to 3,400µg/l (MW-1) TPH-d was detected in water
samples from wells MWA through MW-3 and MW-5 through MW-8 at concentrations ranging
from 71 ug/I (MW-5) to 21,000 µg11 (MW-1)
' Benzene was only detected In MW-1 and MW-2 at concentrations of 610 µg/1 and 4 5 µg11,
respectively The remaining BTEX compounds were also detected in these two wells at
' concentrations as high as 150 µg/1 (xylenes in MW-1)
MTBE was detected by EPA method 8260M in samples MW-I through MW-4 at concentrations of
' 8 ,400 µg11, 38 µg11, 1 5 µg11, and 6 5 ug/l, respectively Of the remaining fuel oxygetiates, only
DIPE and TBA were detected in sample MW-8 at 3 5µg/l and 11 1)g11, respectively
Petroleum hydrocarbons and fuel oxygenates were not detected in the domestic water well sample
Analytical results from ground water' samples are summarized In Table 2 The laboratory
' report,QA/QC and chain-of-custody are included In Appendix B
40.
