05 October 1998
AGE-NC Project No. 98-0433
were then stockpiled at the location of SP4. This soil was also presumed to be "clean".
' The total volume of`clean' soil in SP4 was then approximately 560 to 575 cubic yards.
Removal of USTs and Southern Dispenser Islands
• On 01 September 1998 three USTs, four additional dispenser islands and associated product
lines were removed from the site. Approximately 350 cubic yards of impacted soil were
excavated from the UST and southern dispenser area and stockpiled on the western edge of
' the property. These stockpiles were designated as SP1, SP2-West and SP3.
• On 01 September 1998, Grayland Environmental collected four samples from stockpile SP 1,
' one sample from stockpile SP2-West and eight samples from stockpile SP3. The samples
were transmitted to a DHS-certified laboratory and composited for analysis.
• On 01 and 02 September 1998 approximately 350 cubic yards of"clean" soil from stockpile
' SP4 was backfilled into the former UST excavation. The "clean" soil was approved for use
as backfill material by Mr. Eric Travena of the PHS-EHD. After backfilling, approximately
215 cubic yards of"clean" soil remained in stockpile SP4.
Disposal of Hydrocarbon-Impacted Soil
' On. 14 September 1998 454.8 tons of hydrocarbon-impacted soil was transported and
P
disposed at Forward Landfill. Impacted soil was removed from stockpiles SP1, SP2-West,
' and SP3.
• On 03 November 1998, 224.4 tons were hydrocarbon-impacted soil was transported and
' disposed at Forward Landfill.
• The impacted soil had been generated by the removal and excavation of the ten fuel
dispensers, associated piping, excavation of apparently hydrocarbon-impacted soil for the
upgrade of the fuel system and the former UST removal.
is al of Potentially Hydrocarbon-Impactedi
' Also on 14 September 1998, 176.7 tons of presumed clean soil was transported and disposed
at Forward Landfill. This soil came from the trenching of the new AST lines to the new
dispenser area.
Advaneed GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
