ATTACHMENT A <br /> Hazardous Vaste Facility Permit <br /> Defense Distribution Region Vest--Sharpe Site <br /> Defense Logistics Agency <br /> Lathrop, CA 95331 <br /> EPA ID No. : CA8210020832 <br /> I.DESCRIPTION OF FACILITY <br /> A. ownership Operations and Location <br /> Defense Distribution Region Vest--Sharpe Site (DDRV--S arpe) <br /> owned by the Defense Logistics Agency, located on .Roth load in <br /> Lathrop, in San Joaquin County. California, has applied for a <br /> renewal of their Hazardous Vaste Facility Permit to store <br /> hazardous waste, generated on-site, in two units . One of the <br /> hazardous waste storage units is Building 605, 40 feet by 50 <br /> feet, with 10 individual cells separating incompatible and <br /> reactive wastes . The other hazardous waste storageunit is <br /> Building 530 , 25 feet by 25 feet, with no individual cells <br /> because the wastes stored in this unit are either solid <br /> compatible waste or empty containers . The design and <br /> construction of the storage facilities comply with applicable <br /> state and federal standards and have been certified for their <br /> intended uses by an engineer registered in California. <br /> The following types of waste are stored in Building 605: sulfuric <br /> acid, phosphoric acid, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, trichloroethylene, <br /> chlordane, polychlorinated biphenls, (PCBs) , mercury, v adium, <br /> lead, used oils, phenol, methylethyl ketone, methyl alcohol, <br /> toluene, cyclohylamine, dimethyl formamide, acetonitrile, avitrol <br /> and warfarin. In Building 530 only, sand contamined with small <br /> amounts of cadmium, chrome and lead, and triple rinsed empty <br /> containers are stored. The majority of waste in both buildings <br /> is stored in 55-gallon drums. In Building 605, there is a small <br /> amount of waste stored in containers smaller than 55- allons . <br /> The storage capacity of Building 605 is 15 , 455 gallons <br /> (eauivaient- to 281 55-gallon drums) , while Building_5 0 _has a <br /> j capacity of 5,500 gallons, (equivalent to 100 55-gallon d s) . <br /> '+ ' <br /> B. 0 1ance Vitt: California Environmental ualit Act CE <br /> The Regional Administrator, Region one, Toxic Substances Control <br /> Program, has determined that these units are exempt from CEQA as <br /> i per Section 15301, Title 14,_ calif ornia Code of- Reg lations <br /> (CCR) , because they are existing facilities. <br /> t <br /> I <br /> �, -1- <br />
