y g
tions, the Contracting Officer will reject the well and direct the AE to
repair or replace it at the Contacting Officer's discretion. This work shall
be done at no additional cost to the Government.
9.7.3 If a well is rejected by the Contracting Officer, or is abandoned
by the AE for any reason, the hole shall be backfilled with neat cement grout
from top to bottom by the AE at no additional cost to the Government.
9.8 Method of Payment for Footage Drilled for Monitoring Wells/Borings
The footage for wells/borings specified in each task represents the maximum
drilling footage projected under the contract for each task. The contrac-
tually specified footage for each task shall not be exceeded, except by ex-
press direction of the Co. However, it is possible that the well/boring in-
stallation objectives will be met before the maximum specified footage per in-
dividual task is expended, in which case the aggregate depth of wells/borings
drilled under the task will be less than the specified maximum. If this oc-
curs the AE will be paid only for the footage actually drilled. During con-
tract negotiations the CO and the AE will agree upon unit prices per foot for
soil borings and for monitoring wells. For all contractually specified
footage not drilled under any individual well/boring task, a deduction from
the contract price shall be made at the agreed-upon unit price rate.
10.0 REFERENCES
10.1 "Design Manual For Architect Engineers, HMDM-1110-1-1, " U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers, Huntsville Division, August 1986.
10.2 "DD 1423" U.S. Army.
10.3 "DD 1664" U.S. Army.
10.4 Army Regulation (AR) 385-40, Accident Reporting and Records
10.5 "Environmental Effects of Army Actions," Army Regulation 200-2,
Department of the Army, December 1988.
10.6 "Safety Health Requirements Manual, " Engineering Manual 35-1-1,
April 1981, Revised October 1987.
10.7 "Safety and occupational Health Document Requirements for
Hazardous Waste Site Remedial Actions", Engineer Regulations 385-1-92, 30
August 1984.
10.8 "Chemical Data Quality Management for Hazardous Waste Remedial
Activities", Engineer Regulation 1110-1-263, 1 Oct 90.
AA-33
