4
Draft Ground Water ROD -2- 21 May 1992
DDRW, Sharpe
ROD, we will be unable to sign the ROD, unless the aquifer cleanup levels are
changed.
Plume capture in the North and South Balloon Areas is incomplete. The Final
ROD must reflect that plume capture is incomplete with the IRMs. In addition,
the Final ROD must be based on the most current data to reflect this.
We have enclosed draft substantive requirements for a general discharge to
land of treated VOC contaminated ground water. The requirements are
essentially the same as the Waste Discharge Requirements for DDRW, Tracy for
the reinjection system at that site. We intend to tailor the requirements to
site specific conditions and finalize these requirements prior to the final
comprehensive ROD. These substantive requirements can be attached as an
appendix to the ROD and should be incorporated by reference in the appropriate
section on Applicable or Relevant and Appropriate Requirements (ARAB)
compliance for the selected Remedial Action.
The Final ROD for the Ground Water OU must address all of our comments. If
you have any questions, please call me at (916)361-5670 or Ms. Antonia K. J.
Vorster at (916)361-5647 in my absence.
7itGeCfYrflGe!'G'
CAMILLA WILLIAMS
Engineering Geologist
CKW:cw
Enclosure
cc: Mr. Richard Seraydarian, U.
