This
request is based on the lack of a planned monitoring well network being installed
directly up-gradient of the Lathrop Sands Mobile Home Park and due to the past and
more recent detections of Trichloroethene and Tetrachloroethene in PW010. Currently,
DDJC provides scores of residents surrounding both Sharpe and Tracy with quarterly
water quality summary sheets for potentially impacted potable wells and should provide
similar summary sheets for the residents of the mobile home park for consistency and to
ensure the safety of the residents.
Attached is a sample copy of the water quality summary sheets currently being provided
by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to surrounding residents for both Sharpe/Tracy-
DDJC, summarizing contaminant concentrations and supported by the attached
laboratory analytical sheets. Due to the large number of Hispanic speaking residents in
the mobile home park, these requested quarterly water quality updates should be
produced both in Spanish and English, so the information can be disseminated to all
residents. DTSC would like to see these water quality summary sheets sent out to the
mobile home residents effective the fourth quarter of 2004 sampling event. The water
quality summary sheets should be sent to each unit's mailbox, totaling 35 individual
mailings as observed during a site visit conducted on June 29, 2004 with
Ms. Kim Rhodes, DTSCs Public Participation Specialist assigned to the Sharpe site.
9 Printed on Recycled Paper
