Issues of Concern: Community concerns and discussions included the following topics: • Ms. Breitenbucher asked if the individual residents of the nearby mobile home park received information about water quality beneath the depot and the park's water supply well. Mr. Guzman said DDJC-Sharpe provides the Lathrop Sands Mobile Home Park manager and property owner with groundwater sampling results from the well on the mobile home park property. Mr. Guzman also said the park manager was interviewed twice and provided detailed information about the well and vicinity. • Mr. Barnes said GSA just moved from Rough and Ready Island to Buildings 330 and 286 at the Sharpe depot. Some of his co-workers experienced health issues while working at Rough and Ready Island. Mr. Barnes said he was curious about health concerns from working at Sharpe. Mr. Guzman explained that DDJC is actively cleaning up groundwater and the depot drinking water wells are tested on a regular basis. Workers would be notified if any problems with the depot drinking water were identified. Mr. Imbert adjourned the meeting at approximately 8:10 p.m. Copies of the meeting presentation are attached to this Meeting Summary. Follow-Un: The following actions have been completed: • Mr. Imberi delivered copies of the Five-Year Review Report and the annual groundwater monitoring report to Ms. Breitenbucher and Mr. Barnes on 21 August 2003. • Mr. Guzman said DDJC would determine if the residents of the Lathrop Sands Mobile Home Park are on the depot's mailing list. Deborah Hirsch, URS, later confirmed that Environmental Update Fact Sheets are mailed to all addresses surrounding the depot. • Test results are now being sent addressed to both the manager and the residents of the Lathrop Sands Mobile Home Park. If individual residents want a copy mailed to their own mailboxes,DDJC will provide these copies after the next round of sampling, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2003 (4Q03). The 4Q03 sampling results have not yet been distributed. • Mr. Imberi provided a copy of the Sharpe Site Annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR)to Mr. Barnes on 21 August 2003. DDJC staff reported that copies of the CCR had been provided previously in numbers sufficient to reach each employee. An updated DDJC-Sharpe Drinking Water Quality CCR will be distributed to all depot employees and depot residents by 30 April 2004.
