A small diameter <br /> fill line spilled approximately 500 gallons of diesel over a period of <br /> several hours. The discharge was not discovered until the following morning. <br /> The spill was discovered at 6:50 a.m. on September 19, 1989. The <br /> supervisor in charge was notified, as well as the waste water plant operator. <br /> All water being discharged to the South San Joaquin Irrigation District Canal <br /> (SSJID) was immediately diverted through the oxidation/holding ponds on depot <br /> so that any diesel oil could be observed and cleaned up. <br /> The following agencies were notified: <br /> a. Sdn Joaquin Office of Emergency Services (SJOES) <br /> b. San Joaquin Irrigation District <br /> c. National Response Center (NRC) <br /> d. Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Division <br /> The SJOES notified the following: <br /> a. State Department of Fish and Game <br /> • b. State Warning Center (SWC) <br /> c. San Joaquin County Health Department (SJCHD) <br /> The State Department of Fish and Game notified the Coast Guard. <br />
