In a telephone conversation
on September 18,2000,your consultant Dan Barber expressed that the extended-deadline to
implement the work could not be met. Dan further expressed that he has questions about
the work plan and requested a meeting with PHS/EHD.
A meeting was held at PHS/EHD Conference Room on September 19,2000. Attending the
meeting were you representing the responsible party,Dan Barber,Jeffrey Wong and Dot
Lofstrom representing PHS/EHD. Summary of the meeting is as follows:
• PHS/EHD still requires the installation of the monitoring well as proposed in the work
plan. A full seasonal (4 quarters) of sampling is required as a part of the groundwater
contamination investigation.
• Modify the scope of the work plan to include 3 additional borings utilizing direct-push
technology(Geoprobe) in the vicinity of boring#4 (B-4). The purpose of the three
additional borings is to define the lateral extent of the groundwater contamination.
• Contingency to install additional borings to define the extent of the groundwater
contamination.
• One of the Geoprobe borings downgradient should extend into the ground water
at approximately 50 feet below surface grade (bsg) to collect a grab groundwater sample.
The regional groundwater flow gradient estimated to be north north-east and depth to
water are based on San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District
Lines of Equal Depth publication for 1998 and groundwater information of Victor Fine
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
