Workplan for 19256 North Highway 99- 12/22/98 page 1 <br /> Job No 024 98 <br /> 1.0 WORK PLAN SUMMARY <br /> 1.1 INTRODUCT)[ON <br />' Statement of Work <br /> The proposed work will include the drilling of six (6) soil bonngs to groundwater or to a depth of <br /> no greater than approximately 40 feet below grade surface (bgs) The soil bonngs will be drilled <br /> using a drill ng equipped with hollow-stem or continuous-flight augers A minimum of one <br /> groundwater "grab"sample and up to three soil samples will be selected from each soil boring and <br /> delivered to a State-certtfied laboratory under Cham-of-Custody for laboratory analysis The selected <br /> soil samples will be submitted for analysis of the fuel oxygenate Methyl tert-Butyl Ether(MTBE), <br /> total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-d), total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g), <br /> and the fuel constituents Benzene, Toluene,Ethylbenzene, and Xylenes (BTEX) using EPA modified <br />' Method 8015/8020 Groundwater "grab"samples will be analyzed for TPH-d, TPH-g, BTEX, as <br /> well as the fuel oxygenates Di-isopropyl Ether(DIPE), Ethyl tert-Butyl Ether (ETBE), Methyl tert- <br /> Butyl Ether(MTBE), tert-Amyl Methyl Ether(TAME), and tert-Butanol (TBA)using EPA Method <br /> 8260 If groundwater is not encountered, only soil samples will be submitted for laboratory analysts <br /> Site Location and Description <br /> The site is located at 19256 North Highway 99 in Acampo, California, (See Figure 1) The site <br /> property is bordered on the north side by an apple orchard and by an open field containing grape vines <br /> to the south The front of the property (west) is adjacent to approximately six residential units and <br /> by Woodbridge Road, a frontage road running parallel with Highway 99 And the east site of the <br /> property is bordered by an open field, which we understand is currently being investigated by the <br /> Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board for impacted groundwater The property is <br /> currently occupied by Western Oil and Spreading, Inc, a liquid asphalt distribution business The site <br /> occupies approximately 2 13 acres of land, is relatively flat, and is covered with natural ground and <br /> gravel The site contains 11 insulated aboveground tanks (AST's) used to store vanes road oils The <br /> site once contained five underground fuel storage tanks (UST's) used to store liquid asphalt, diesel <br /> fuel, and gasoline(See Figure 2) Groundwater is anticipated to be encountered during initial drilling <br /> at approximately 3 5 feet below grade surface, (bgs) <br /> Background <br /> In 1955 Mr Lloyd Moore moved his company Moore and sons from the corner of Cherokee Lane <br /> and Lockeford Street in Lodi, to the present location at 19256 North Highway 99 in Acampo, <br /> California Sometime during the 1960's the company was sold to the Van Lobensels who named the <br /> company Western Asphalt <br /> In 1985 the business was purchased by Mike and John Telfer and renamed Western Oil and <br /> Spreading, Inc The company is currently operating as a liquid asphalt distribution business <br />' On October 22, 1987, two 20,000-gallon UST's used to store liquid asphalt, one 2,000-gallon UST <br /> q P g <br /> used to store diesel fuel, one <br />
