This case meets all of the required criteria of the Policy.
Highlights of the case follow:
This Site is an active commercial petroleum fueling facility. An unauthorized release was
reported in November 1988 following the removal of two USTs (one gasoline, one diesel).
Several thousand cubic yards of impacted soil were excavated to 30 feet below ground surface
(bgs) and disposed offsite in July 1990. Soil vapor extraction was conducted briefly in
September 2010. The rate of total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) removal was 27
pounds per day. Active remediation has not been conducted at the Site for the past four years.
Since 1994, 27 groundwater monitoring wells have been installed and monitored. According to
groundwater data, water quality objectives have been achieved or nearly achieved for all
constituents except total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd).
The petroleum release is limited to the soil and shallow groundwater. According to data
available in GeoTracker, there is one public water supply wells approximately 750 feet east
(downgradient)of the projected plume boundary. No other water supply wells or surface water
bodies have been identified within 1,000 feet of the projected plume boundary in files reviewed.
The unauthorized release is located within the service area of a public water system, as defined
in the Policy. The affected shallow groundwater is not currently being used as a source of
drinking water, and it is highly unlikely that the affected shallow groundwater will be used as a
source of drinking water in the foreseeable future. Other designated beneficial uses of the
affected shallow groundwater are not threatened, and it is highly unlikely that they will be,
FFi.CIA MARCUS, CXAIR I THOMAS HOWARD,EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
1001 1 Streel,Sacramento.CA 95814 1 Mailm9 Address P.O.Box 100,Sacramento,Ca 95812.0100 1 wW W.waterboards.cagov
Ci REcxc.EO nRRA
