September 6, 1990
File No. E90211
Mr. Ken Gillies
Gillies Truckirg Co.
3931 Newton Road
P.O. Box 8303
Stockton, CA 9208
_ Subject: Review and Report of Tank Removal
Activities - Gillies Trucking Co.
3931 Newton Road, Stockton; CA
Dear Mr. Gillies:
This letter report contains the results of our recent
review and assessment of tank removal and soil sampling and
analysis work at the Gillies Trucking Co. site on Newton Road in
Stockton, California.
In general, the results of soil sampling and testing after
the removal of the tanks showed ".hat fuels, including diesel,
and apparently to a lesser extent, gasoline, entered the soils
below the tanks. The test results also suggest that additional
investigations will be needed to meet the concerns of regulatory
agencies. Currently, the San Joaquin Health Dept. and the
Regional Water Quality Control Board are empected to be the
agencies that will seek and review the added site
w- investigations.
This report is prepared in order to meet the County's needs
as discussed with them on August 6, 1997 and as stated in
correspondence from them to Gillies Trucking in 1989 and a
letter dated Auguat 30, 1990. Additional investigations
proposed in this letter report include soil test borings,
groundwater monitoring well installation and chemical testing of
soil and water samples.
If you have any questions regarding this assessment of
available data, or the contents of the proposed workplan part of
this report, please contact me at (415) 837-0817.
- Sincerely,
RICHESIN & ASSOCIATES, INC.
Dean A.
