EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The depth to groundwater was measured and water samples were collected from the Gillies
Trucking site on December 22, 1999 Eight water samples were sent to McCambell Analytical
Laboratories for analysis of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in the diesel range, and seven samples
were also analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in the gasoline range and for BTEX
Groundwater is present at a depth of 53 feet(approximately two feet shallower than when measured
in October 1999) The groundwater gradient is to the east at this time, and appears to be steeper
west of the UST cavity than east of it The east-trending trough in the gradient has reappeared,
although it may trend slightly more to the southeast than previously The site continues to
experience changes in groundwater gradient and flow direction, making interpretation of the
hydrogeology and contaminant distribution difficult
Diesel was detected in five of eight wells, at concentrations ranging from 66 µg/l (ppb) to 55,000
ppb Gasoline was detected in one sample at 750 ppb, and benzene was reported in four samples
between 0 8 and 13 ppb MTBE was reported only in GT-10, at a concentration of 9 4 ppb
1
