Upgradient Environmental Consultants
. January 20, 1995
Mr Steve Sasson,REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Division
445 N San Joaquin Street
Stockton, CA 95201
JAN 2 5 1995 ,
Subject Gillies Trucking
Fourth Quarter Monitoring Report ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
Newton Road pERMTISERVICES
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr Sasson
As recommended in Upgradient EAvironmental's groundwater monitoring report for the third quarter of 1994,
Upgrad)ent continued to monitor the depth to groundwater at the site through the end of 1994 Depth measurements
were obtained on November 10 and December 23 to confirm the northwestward groundwater flow direction
observed in September That determination was based on depth measurements that were obtained on September 9
and reported in the Third Quarter Report Data previously provided by the San Joaquin County Flood Control
District had indicated that the prevailing gradient is to the south
• Table I compares the groundwater depth for the three monitoring events Heading into the rainy season, the depth
decreased by nearly 3 feet between September and December This rise has continued into the new year, as will be
reported in the First Quarter 1995 Monitoring Report
The data obtained to date provide weak support to the southward gradient shown on the county flood control maps
Unfortunately, the groundwater elevation is nearly the same in all three wells, preventing a conclusive interpretation
of the gradient In both months, GT-I and MW-I appear to be slightly upgradient of GT-2(Figures I and 2)
However, very slight short-term changes in the elevation of the water table would be sufficient to cause reversals in
flow direction It is probable that the gradient is very low, allowing groundwater to "slosh"back and forth and
remain relatively stationary over a longer period
Upgradient Environmental Consultants will continue to monitor the groundwater conditions at the site
Groundwater samples were recently obtained, and will be fully discussed in the forthcoming First Quarter Report
We Iook forward to discussing this investigation with you after we have transmitted the First quarter Report
Respectfully Submitted,
Up r tent nviro ental Consultants
C3 CH
 4
Victor B Cherven, President
cc Kett Gillies
411182nd Street 3369 Kimberly Road
Sacramento, CA 95826 Cameron Park, CA 95682
(916) 452-2891 (916) 677-3055
Far 457-1817 Fax 677-3055
