. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Groundwater samples were collected from five monitor wells and one domestic well at the Gillies
Trucking yard at 3931 Newton Road on June 5, 2003 One well was dry and was not sampled
The static water level fell by nearly 1 foot since March and was 60 feet below grade on June 5 At
this depth it remains wrtlun the silt and clay of the Modesto aquitard, below the Modesto channel
aquifer and below the bottom of well GT-10 (59 45 feet)
The water elevation data were contoured to yield a map of the piezometric surface The elevation
contours form an arc around well GT-1, and the water table slopes eastward or southward This is
unchanged from the previous quarter
The water samples were analyzed for TPH-diesel, which was detected in three samples The
concentration increased from 120 to 150 ppb in GT-5, decreased from 540 to 420 ppb in GT-6 and
from 83 to less than 50 ppb in GT-1, and was unchanged at 61 ppb in GT-9 The concentration also
remained below the detection limit in GT-3 and in the Gillies domestic well Thus, groundwater
contamination in the aqurtard is below or only a few hundred parts per billion above the diesel
detection limit in all wells
1
1
