The scope of our services included
1) sampling of soils within a former underground fuel storage tank excava-
tion and 2) coordination of treatment of excavated soils by aeration.
These services were provided subsequent to underground tank removal and
initial excavation sampling, which was performed by American Environmental
Management Corporation (AEMC) of Sacramento, California. Our services
were conducted in accordance with the San Joaquin County Local Health
Department (SJCLHD) , represented by Ms. Laurie Cottulla, and the San
Joaquin County Air Pollution Department (SJCAPD) , represented by Mr. Sayed
Sadredin.
BACKGROUND
It is our understanding that three underground fuel storage tanks and one
underground waste oil storage tank at the subject site were excavated and
removed by AEMC on July 24, 1986. One soil sample was collected from the
excavation floor beneath each of the four underground tanks by AEMC, and
each sample was analyzed for halogenated, nonhalogenated, and aromatic
