ADEQUATE AND NECESSARY ELEMENTS OF THE WORK PLAN [H&S 25296.10 (c)(3)]:
1. A clean water injection test will be performed on existing wells: UVB-MW1,UVB-MW2,
V1, V2, V4, SW1, SW2, IP1A, IP1B, IP2A, IP213, IP3A, IP313, PSV1, and PSV2. The test
is to evaluate current well condition and performance prior to oxidant (PersulfOx(D)
injection.
2. If the evaluation of test wells UVB-MW1,UVB-MW2, V1, V2, V4, SW1, SW2, IP1A,
IP1B, IP2A, IP213, IP3A, IP313, PSV1, and PSV2 is favorable, these wells will be used
for the PersulfOx®injections.
3. Two PersulfOx®injection events into groundwater will be performed approximately three
weeks apart .
4. A contaminant mass calculation in soil and groundwater in the treatment area is
estimated to be 3,782 pounds and Regenesis (supplier of PersulfOx®) recommends
15,500 pounds of PersulfOx®will be needed for treatment.
5. The injection rate and pressure will be selected based upon the initial results of the
clean water well injection test.
6. Groundwater monitoring and sampling will be conducted before, during, and after
injections adhering to Appendix D in the WP.
7. Safeguards will be in place to address any spillage or overflow/breakthrough that occur
on-site or off-site.
8. A minimal amount of clean water for flushing will be injected into the treated wells
following the Persulfox®injections.
9. After completion of the field activities and one quarter of groundwater
monitoring/sampling, a report of findings will be prepared and submitted for review and
comment.
