1
1• ACTIVITIES JANUARY THROUGH APRIL 1992
• Monitoring wells were gauged and sampled 30 Apra 1992 (Figures la and lb).
• An Authority to Construct permit (permit numbers 91-395 and 91-396) was
' received from the Unified Air Pollution Control District allowing the installation of
the proposed air stripper, soil vapor extraction system, and catalytic oxidation
off-gas abatement device.
' • A notice of public hearing, to be held 26 June 1992, was posted at the Stockton
City Hall and Post Office giving notification that there will be a public hearing
concerning granting Exxon Company, U S.A authorization to discharge treated
water under the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System.
' • A representative from EA Engineering, Science, and Technology met with the
Stockton Department of Municipal Utilities to evaluate the expected quality and
quantity of water to be discharged into the storm sewer system
2. PLANNED ACTIVITIES MAY THROUGH AUGUST 1992
' • Monitoring wells were gauged and sampled 13 August 1992 (Figutes 1a d lb).
3. PLANNED ACTIVITIES SEPTEMBER THROUGH NOVEMBER 1992
' • Monitoring wells will be gauged and sampled November 1992.
' 4. DEFINITION OF LIQUID-PHASE HYDROCARBONS
' A measurable thickness of liquid-phase hydrocarbons (LPH) was found only in wells RW3
and V4 on 13 August 1992. Well RW3 contained 0.39 feet of LPH, an increase of 0.25 feet
from when it was last measured on 28 January 1992. LPH was measured in well V4 at
' 0.07 feet, whereas a sheen had been observed on 28 January 1992.
' S. DEFINITION OF DISSOLVED CONSTITUENT PLUME
Groundwater was sampled on 30 April and 13 August. On both dates, monitoring wells
MW 1—MW 10 were not sampled because either they did not contain enough water to properly
purge and sample or they were dry. Samples were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocar-
bons as gasoline (TPH-g) by DHS-modified EPA Method 8015 and for benzene, toluene,
' ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020. Analytical results for the August
sampling are summarized in Table 2 and cumulatively summarized in Table 3 along with
73942(1)IQ492/X 4 1
