2. ACTIVITIES OCTOBER 1991 THROUGH JANUARY 1992 <br /> • Monitoring wells were gauged and sampled 28 January 1992 (Figures la. and <br /> 1b) <br /> • Address labels for all residences and businesses within 750 feet of the site <br /> perimeter were delivered to the San Joaquin Air Pollution Control District <br /> (SJAPCD) in January 1992 Public notification is required before an Authority <br /> to Construct permit for a remediation system can be granted <br /> • Draft waste discharge requirements were received from the California Regional <br /> Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), Central Valley Region, in January <br /> 1992 <br /> 3. PLANNED ACTIVITIES FEBRUARY THROUGH APRIL 1992 <br /> • Monitoring wells will be gauged and sampled in April 1992 <br /> • All applications for permits to install and operate a combined soil vapor and <br /> groundwater extraction system have been submitted Based on responses from <br /> Mthe regulatory agencies, the design of the system will be revised to be built in <br /> and around a building proposed for the site Construction of the system will <br /> proceed as permits are acquired and when an agreement with the land owners <br />' is reached concerning use of the site <br /> 4. DEFINITION OF LIQUID-PHASE HYDROCARBONS <br /> A measurable thickness of liquid-phase hydrocarbons (LPH) was found only in well RW3 on <br /> 28 January 1992, the well contained 0 14 feet of LPH (Table 1) Droplets of LPH were seen in <br /> water purged from wells V 1 and V4 <br /> The thickness of LPH in well RW3 has decreased from 14 feet measured last quarter to 0 14 feet <br />' measured this quarter, and the LPH measured in well V4 has decreased to a sheen <br /> 5. DEFINITION OF DISSOLVED CONSTITUENT PLUME <br /> Groundwater was sampled on 28 January Monitoring wells MW 1-MW 10 were not sampled <br /> because either they did not contain enough water to properly purge and sample or they were dry <br />. Samples were analyzed for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) and for benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) Analytical results for the January sampling are <br /> WP51n3942(1)/QTR/JAN92trx s 2 <br />
