Box 388
Stockton, CA 95201-0388
Subject: Results of Supplemental Soil Sampling at Roy's Towing
3570 least Miner Avenue, Stockton, CA (Figure 1)
Dear Mr. Wilson:
I am writing to transmit and briefly summarize the analytical results of soil samples recently
collected from the subject property. Soil sampling and analysis was in accordance with the
procedures proposed in the Preliminary Soil Remediation Plan dated June 19, 1997 and verbally
approved by your office on July 25. Soil samples were collected under the observation of Mr.
Robert McClellan with PHS/EHD.
SAMPLI1LG
On July 28, 1997 a backhoe was used to open small test holes at the locations indicated on
Figure 2. Soil samples were collected from a depth of approximately 1 foot from all locations
except proposed location SS4, which was inaccessible, The sample collected from location
BSS-1 at the depth of 1 foot was split into a number of duplicates for potential treatment testing.
Discrete samples were also collected at this location at depths of 2, 3, and 4 feet to delineate the
vertical extent of lead contamination. All samples were scaled in wide mouth jars and submitted
under chain of custody documentation to Agricultural and Priority Pollutants Laboratory (ELAP
# 1312) in Fresno for analysis.
ANALYSES:
Samples were analyzed for soluble lead using the CA WET extraction ("STLC" analysis). The
untreated control sample collected from location BSS-1 was also analyzed for total lead, soluble
lead by the CA WET method with deionized water as the extraction medium, soluble lead using
the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure ("TCLP") and for pH.
