The two
objectives of the proposed work are as follows:
1) Determing more accurately the actual lateral limits and depths of contamination.
With this information we will know the actual number of cubic yards that must
be dealt with in one fashion or another.
2) Investigate the suitability of chemical stabilization to immobilize the soluble lead
in the soil. The solubility of the lead when leached by water as opposed to the
citric acid used in the STLC method will also be determined.
Furthgr DFlinefig-n',_
The proposed workscope consists of collecting soil samples at depths of I foot below grade from
six (6) locations using; a backhoe for laboratory analysis of soluble (STLC) lead. This work
should establish the lateral limits of soil contamination at the depth of 1 foot. At the location
of the previous sample "A" samples from depths of 2, 3, and 4 feet will also be collected and
analyzed. These samples should establish the actual "floor" to the soil contamination (presently
we know it is somewhere between 1 and 5 feet).
tra,ne4oy'srovloadet
