A c:heci:list is advisable bezaase it is useful in the field <br /> for daily checks of working conditions. <br /> If such safety SOP's are provided through the firm's health and safety <br /> program manual, that section of the manual should be provided as an <br /> appendix to the SSP. <br /> 12. Emergency Response Plan [IFR and PR (1) ] <br /> This section of the SSP is very dependent on the specifics of the site <br /> and the phase of the project. [IFR (1) (ii) ] lists the requirements for <br /> an Emergency Response Plan; the requirements are addressed in this <br /> section of the SSP. <br /> At a minim m, the plan should describe medical and emergency services to <br /> be used, including a list of emergency contact telephone numbers, and a <br /> map and narrative describing the route to the nearest emergency room. <br /> Personnel with current CPP/First Aid training need to be identified. <br /> Decontamination requirements for personnel injured or exposed in the <br /> work zone should be described. Provide a site map with evacuation <br /> routes, procedures and signals. Describe means of contacting emergency <br /> services (local phone, cellular phone, radio, etc.) , and note the <br /> location of such equipment. Check with the medical facility to ensure <br /> that they are capable of handling injured workers who may be <br /> contaminated. <br /> As applicable, based on the project, develop contingency plans for <br /> on-site and off-site spills or releases of hazardous materials which <br /> will include evacuation plans for surrounding areas. <br /> 13. Training Requirements [IFR and PR (e) ] <br /> This section describes personnel training programs, which <br /> should include as a minimum, health hazard recognition t_rairing, <br /> physical agent (safety) training, respiratory protection `.raining, <br /> equipment training, safe work practices, first aid/CPR, and personal <br /> hygiene. Indicate has site personnel have met the training <br /> requirements set forth in [IFR and PR (e) ] ; include an outline of this <br /> training. Procedures for daily/pre-shift tailgate safety meetings <br /> should be discussed. <br /> Note that OSF_ requires specialized training be given when handling <br /> specific materials, and that personnel be trained in the hazards <br /> specific to thei job. <br /> If the details on such a training program are provided through a <br /> corporate health and safety prograVmanual, the appropriate se-ion <br /> - 12 - <br />
