FROM Ground Zero Ani l ysi e PhUMF- NO. . 209 952 999-2 h g. 9`1- 05:O©Pti P3
Roy's Towing
Page 2
The laboratory was instructed to hold analysis on the sample from location SS-1 pending the
results from SS-2 and SS-3. The laboratory was also instructed to hold analysis on samples
collected from 2 feet and 4 feet at location BSS, pending results of the sample cellrctcd at 3 feet
from that location.
RESULTS;
Analytical results of previous sampling at the site are summarized in Tables 1 and 2. Results
from the current sampling are summarized in Table 3. Laboratory data sheets and chain of
custody documentation are included in Attachment 1.
Lateral Limits of Lead CQGtaminati=
None of the soluble lead concentrations exceeded the STLC limit of 5 mg/f (most were non-
detect at a practical quantitation limit of 0,5 mg/t). These results establish the lateral limits of
soil contamination in excess of the STLC limit for lead.
Vertical_Limits of Lead Contamination;
The sample Collected from a depth of 3 feet at location 13fiS did not contain a detectable
concentration of soluble lead. However, although adjacent to previous sampling locations
A/AA, the sample from 1 foot at BSS only contained 0.62 mg/f soluble lead by STLC. For this
reason, the sample from the depth of 2 feet has not been analyzed.
Environmental Leachability:
The TCLP and deicnized water STLC results from sample BSS-1 establish the low solubility and
leachability of lead under less rigorous extraction procedures than the standard STLC using citric
acid. These are more indicative of the solubility of the lead contaminant under actual
environmental conditions.
Two splits of this sample were treated with portland cement and a pozzolanic fly ash/hydrated
lime amendment. These have not been submitted for analysis due to the low STLC lead
concentration in the control sample.
!QQNCLUSICNS:
The recent sampling in Conjunction with previous investigation indicates that soil containing
soluble lead in excess of the STLC limit of 5 mg1f is not laterally extensive and is confined to
the far norfixastern boundary of the property and a small area jList off the southeast corner of
the shop building. Samples collected in the driveway east of the building and north of the
building did not contain lead in excess of the STLC limit.
