1 <br /> 16 2 1 3 Laboratory Testing <br />' Chemical analyses of the selected soil samples were performed by Curtis & Tompkins, Ltd , a <br /> California Department of Health Services-certified hazardous waste analytical laboratory <br /> located in Berkeley, California Laboratory analyses consisted of the following procedures- <br />' - Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) using DHS/LUFT procedure EPA Test Method <br /> 8015-Modified (diesel), <br />' - Total Volatile Hydrocarbons (TVH) using DHS/LUFT procedure EPA Test Method <br />' 8015-Modified (gasoline), <br /> - Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and total Xylenes (BTEX) using EPA Test Method <br />' 8020, <br /> - Total Lead using EPA Test Method 6010A, and <br /> iA total of thirty-six (36) soil samples were collected from the five (5) test borings excavated <br /> for this investigation Of these samples, ten (10) were selected for immediate chemical <br />' laboratory analysis Remaining soil samples for chemical analysis were archived under <br /> refrigeration at the Iaboratory for a period of thirty (30) days for possible future analysis if <br /> necessary Appendix E - Certified Chemical Laboratory Reports and Sample Cham-of-Custody <br /> Documentation indicates those individual samples selected for laboratory analysts and those <br /> archived for possible future testing <br />' 2.2 Groundwater Investigation Methodology <br />' 2 2 1 Monitoring Well Installation <br /> Soil boring MWA was converted to a monitoring well by installation of nominal 2-inch <br />' diameter schedule 40 PVC casing and screen Screen slot was 0 020-inch mill-slot The <br /> annulus of each well was filled with Monterey #3 graded and washed high-silica sand from <br /> total depth to approximately 2 foot above the upper screened section, upon which a two-foot <br /> seal of hydrated bentonite pellets was placed followed by a Portland neat cement concrete <br /> surface monument with trafficable at-grade well cover The well was equipped with a locking <br /> well cap and completed in accordance with CAPE'S standard operating procedures, California <br />' State Water Resources Control Board, Department of Water Resources and other applicable <br /> protocols <br />' Refer to Appendix B - Soil Boring Logs/Well Construction Details for monitoring well <br /> completion information Figure 3 - Boring Location Diagram depicts the location of all test <br /> borings and the monitoring well <br />' 4 <br />
