(Holz)
located at 1129 South Sacramento Street, Lod" California (Figure 1). The additional boring is
proposed to be installed approxtnatcly five feet from monitoring well MW-4 (Figure 2). Following the
collection, logging, and field screening of the soil samples from MW-4, the chain-of-custody "Chain"
between the soil samples and the sampler was broken Due to this break in the "Chain", Dena is
requesting to install a soil boring adjacent to monitoring well MW-4 and collect soil samples at four
discreet intervals; 6 26 45. and 66 feet below surface grade. These were the samples scheduled for
drilling, soil cuttings will be continuously screened in the field using a
submittal from MW-4- During d
flame ionization detector(FID)for volatile compounds. Readings will be recorded.
Delta is not proposing to collect samples at 5 foot intervals from the soil boring (as was done in
MW-4) due to the soil borings Proximity to MW-4 and the repotted lack of any positive field readings
during the installation of MW-4.
Soil Boring
The boring will be advanced using 825 inch outside diameter hollow stem augers. Soil samples will be
tubes are
collected in cleaned brass mThe ampler s conveyed to the bottdiameter by 6 inches in lengLIL om of the boreholeically artachLd
in an 18 inch long split-barrelsampler.
by a wire-line hammer device-
When possible, the split-barrel sampler is driven its entire length, either hydraulically or by repeated
pounding a 140-pound hammer using a 30-inch drop. Tire sealed sample is labeled and handled
according to the Quality Assurance Plan
Material from one of the other tubes or the shoe of the sampler is screened in the field, according to the
Soil Sample Screening section The data is recorded on the boring logs at the depth corresponding to
the sampling point.
Providing a Competitive Edge
