HYDRDQOLOGIC ASSESSMENT RESULTS AND <br /> QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MDN nDRING REPORT <br /> 4445 Pershing Avenue Stockton California <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This report documents the results of 1) the limited subsurface investigation conducted <br />' by Aegis Environmental, Inc (Aegis), and 2) quarterly groundwater monitoring conducted <br /> by Emcon Associates (Emcon) of Sacramento, California, on January 21, 1992, at the <br /> Shell Oil Company (Shell) Service Station, located at 4445 Pershing Avenue in Stockton, <br />' California (Figure 1) The investigation was in response to the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Services/ Environmental Health Department's (SJCPHS/EHD) letter dated <br /> October 7, 1991, requesting "repeatable sampling from a monitoring well downgradient <br /> from the probable source " The monitoring included collection of depth-to-groundwater <br /> measurements and water samples from the three existing wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) <br /> and one new well (MW-4), installed as part of the investigation, located on site (Figure 2) <br /> This report is based, in part, on information obtained by Aegis from Shell and Emcon and <br /> is subject to modification as newly acquired information may warrant <br /> 1.1 Purpose <br /> The purpose of the investigation was to further <br /> • characterize the site's shallow subsurface, including soil and hydrogeologic <br /> conditions, and, <br /> • assess the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons, if any, in the soil and/or <br /> groundwater beneath the site <br /> 12 Scope <br /> The scope of work completed at the site was performed in accordance with the Aegis <br /> standard operating procedures (SOP) included in Appendix A, and includes the following <br /> • One soil boring was drilled, to approximately 45 feet below surface, logged, <br /> and sampled, at the location shown on Figure 2 <br /> • Based on the results of field observations and/or measurements three soil <br /> samples were selected and submitted for analysis to National Pacific, Inc <br /> (NET), of Santa Rosa, California, a state-certified laboratory for analysis <br /> • The soil boring was completed as 4-inch-diameter groundwater monitoring <br /> well MW-4 <br /> • Soil cuttings from the soil boring were placed on and covered by plastic <br /> sheeting One soil sample was collected from the stockpiled soil, and <br /> submitted to NET for analysis <br /> 89-016A OMR 1_ <br /> P <br />
