t1 a
CAMBRIA
No existing water-supply wells, deeper aquifers, surface waters, or other receptors are threatened
by pollutants remaining in the aquifer. No well survey has been completed for this site However,
groundwater analytical results from the site monitoring wells indicate that fuel hydrocarbon
concentrations in groundwater beneath the site are not substantial and do not threaten any potential
sensitive receptors in the site vicinity Information from the State of California Geotracker database
indicates the nearest municipal water supply well is farther than t/4-mile from this site
The total pollutant mass remaining in the groundwater is decreasing at predicted rates and neither
creates, nor threatens to create, a risk to human health and safety or future beneficial uses)of the
aquifer As discussed above, no TPHg or benzene are currently present at detectable concentrations
in groundwater samples collected from the site wells, and MTBE concentrations remain below 5 ppb
Further, samples from the Exxon well east of the site contain 215 ppb TPHg and 0 60 ppb benzene
(MTBE was not detected) These non-detect to low concentrations demonstrate that the mass
remaining in groundwater does not pose a risk to human health and safety or future beneficial uses of
the aquifer
Based on Cambria's review of site conditions, the site satisfies the criteria for a low-risk fuel site On
behalf of Shell, Cambria respectfully requests case closure A completed Appendix B checklist is
presented in Attachment A
CLOSING
Thank you for your consideration of this matter Please call Aubrey Cool at(510)420-3336 if you
have any questions or comments
Sincerely,
Cambria Environmental Technology, Inc.
<,.
ED
AubreyK Cool ANA
GEO
Project Geologist FMEL D
L
c
Exp
Ana Friel, (, be #6452
Senior Project Geologist ATF yQ
.
