. KEI-P88-1013 .QR2
December 10, 1992
Page 3
py the SJCPHS to bring well MW6 into active status, KEI recommends
,/that MW6_b esto .c1d a replacement well installed. This well,
identified as MW15, is also shown on the attached Figure 3 . Our
work plan/proposal for this proposed work is attached for your
review and consideration.
Please note that additional monitoring wells in the reported
downgradient direction of the site are not recommended at this
time A Montgomery Wards ' auto repair facility occupies the parcel
(across Robinhood Drive) in the apparent downgradient direction of
the site. As noted in KEI ' s report (KEI-P88-1013 . R2) dated July
15, 1992 , a previous inspection of the Montgomery Wards ' site
revealed areas of concrete and asphalt disturbances that appeared
to be the locations of former pump islands and underground sorage
tanks. Per a phone conversation with Mr. Michael Infurna of the
SJCPHS, the County is requiring that Montgomery Wards perform an
environmental investigation on their site. This investigation is
apparently being required because of contaminants that have been
detected in the vicinity of the former pump Islands and underground
tanks that have been confirmed to previously exist at the site.
KEI will review the technical report for the Montgomery Wards ' site
S
/ when it becomes available, and will make additional recommendations
D J pertaining to the Unocal investigation as warranted.
DISTRIBUTION
A copy of this report should be sent to SJCPHS , and to the Regional
Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region.
LIMITATIONS
Environmental changes, either naturally-occurring or artificially-
induced, may cause changes in ground water levels and flow paths,
thereby changing the extent and concentration of any contaminants.
a
