Supplemental Investigation Report,Problem Assessment Report and Work Plan <br /> Cleana and Abatement Order No 5-00-707 EAI Pro ect No 1232 <br /> Under round Stora a Tanks <br /> Delta College had several underground storage tanks that stored among other substances waste <br /> oil, gasoline and diesel fuel EAI has been working with Delta College to determine the <br /> location and status of all USTs currently or formerly located on the campus This work is still <br /> ongoing and the results will be reported under separate cover as soon as they are available <br /> 2.2 Wards Site <br />' Wards operates an auto service center at 5400 Pacific Avenue Stockton California see <br /> P , ( <br /> Figures 1 and 2) <br /> 2 2 1 Removal of USTs <br /> Waste Oil UST <br />' On August 28, 1986, one 550-gallon capacity waste oil UST was removed from the Wards site <br /> (see Figure 3) One soil sample was collected from beneath the UST by Canonie <br /> Environmental Services Corp (Canonie) and tested for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) by <br /> EPA Method 8015, purgeable aromatics by EPA Method 8020, purgeable halocarbons by EPA <br /> Method 8010, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) by EPA Method 8080 No TPH, <br /> purgeable aromatics or PCBs were detected in the sample Trichlorofluoromethane (0 05 parts <br /> per million [ppm]) was the only purgeable halocarbon detected Based on these testing results, <br /> no additional assessment activities were required in this area of the Wards site <br /> Bulk Oil USTs <br /> On June 22, 1988, four bulk USTs (two 1,000-gallon and two 500-gallon capacity) were <br /> removed from the Wards site (see Figure 3) Two soil samples were collected from beneath <br /> each UST by Canonie and tested for TPH, and benzene, toluene, xylenes and ethylbenzene <br /> (BTXE) No TPH or BTXE were detected in any of the soil samples tested Based on these <br /> testing results, no additional assessment activities are required in this area of the Wards site <br /> Gasoline USTs <br />' On June 26, 1986, two 10,000-gallon capacity gasoline USTs were removed from the Wards <br /> site (see Figure 3) These USTs were used to store regular and unleaded gasoline The <br />' underground product lines were triple rinsed, stubbed and abandoned in place A concrete slab <br /> on which the USTs were located was also abandoned in place <br /> 2 2 2 Assessmenals <br /> In May 1988, A D Selditch & Associates, Inc (ADS) drilled and sampled five borings on the <br /> Wards site to determine whether any release had occurred in the former vicinity of the gasoline <br /> USTs (see Figure 3) Four of the borings (Borings 1 through 4) were located in the area of the <br /> BS 1232P IRW WP -3- <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT, INC <br />
